The map-based service supports Metsähallitus Metsätalous in planning silvicultural measures in reindeer herding areas, where coordinating forestry and reindeer husbandry through continuous dialogue is critically important.

The service, which integrates into a silvicultural planning system, enhances Metsähallitus’ participatory planning processes and improves the quality of information produced therein. Reindeer herders can interactively comment on the forest management plans they receive and the measures presented in said plans. At the same time, spatial information regarding reindeer husbandry can be maintained centrally and comprehensively.
